It's amazing that so ...Lydia, These are great! It's amazing that so much can be said with just a few words. Each statement is really more than a morsel. They're entire meals that we can chew on to receive His life and nourishment.

I think my favorite is Rob Rufus's quote to "......"Give up trying to be more HOLY
Give up trying to be more adequate
Give up trying to have more faith
Give up and let the HOLY SPIRIT....."

That really is the key. Just give up. What good advice.

Thanks for sharing these. I really want to check out some of that Rob Rufus material you've recommended. It all sounds good.

AidaAidahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09885702269506142727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-139676684011582364.post-87992520106837352002008-02-12T21:14:00.000-05:002008-02-12T21:14:00.000-05:00Yes fortunately!!!Yes fortunately!!!lydiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01495924200222561417noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-139676684011582364.post-65495037442895341042008-02-12T13:01:00.000-05:002008-02-12T13:01:00.000-05:00Wow... lots of great tidbits and morsels here! I ...Wow... lots of great tidbits and morsels here! I love 'em all, and especially this one:

"If you preach one part you must preach all parts, the law was meant to be kept as a whole. YOU CANNOT BALANCE GRACE WITH LAW."

Amen, the law was meant to be kept as a whole. If someone keeps the whole thing, but stumbles in just one point, that person is guilty of the whole thing. If a Christian wants to take credit for his or her keeping of any given law or laws, then he or she must be careful to keep the whole thing.

Fortunately we are able to chuck aside the whole idea of trying to keep one law or all of them, as the righteous requirement of the law is "fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit." (Rom 8:4). And "you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you." (Rom 8:9).

And to echo another quote here... we need to give up, and stop trying... and let the Holy Spirit. :)Joel Bruesekehttp://blog.graceroots.org/noreply@blogger.com
