Not I but me..........

I'm dead, I'm dead, hidden in God with Christ,

dead to this world, to God I'm alive,

my passions and desires have been crucified,

but in my flesh I see deceit and lies.

Its no longer I, but evil in me,

Its no longer I, the evil I see,

for in my flesh nothing good can be,

for this old man is no longer me,

What shall we say?....   No responsibility!

shall I do what I want now I am free,

Thank God in this flesh I'm not alone,

for grace reigns from the throne,

ruling over to bring me home,

a slave, to righteousness I am owned.

and from this grace I cannot fall,

unless I go back under the law,

to which I'm dead, and dead to sin,

so to God I am alive,

I'm dead, hidden with God in Christ.

The Song of Divine Invitation.........

In a room filled with darkness and people in despair
I sit in filth with clothes of rags, without a will to care.
Then a Man dressed in scarlet walks into the room;
The air that once was stale and cold is filled with sweet perfume.
His eyes are filled with searching, among faces pale and ashen;
He makes His way among us with a heart compelled by passion.
Then suddenly His eyes meet mine, my heart begins to race,
I find myself longing to feel His warm embrace.

He stops and stands before me as if He has found a prized possession.
His eyes are tender, filled with joy, with sweet and calm compassion.
With gentleness He takes my cheek within His soothing hand;
He turns my face towards His, I feel I know this Man.
His tender gaze pierces through the darkness of my soul,
I feel He knows all about me, every secret that I hold.
With a voice like a whisper that sounds just like a song.
He speaks the words of love for which my heart has longed.
"Come dance with Me, My darling, Come dance with Me, My love;
Come dance, My bride, My chosen one, Come dance with Me above."

As I rise from my darkness, the room is filled with light,
And as we dance, His robe is turned from scarlet into white.
He holds me close and tenderly within His warm embrace,
Somehow I know He loves me and know that I am safe.
All around me I hear music that reaches deep within my soul,
My spirit feels alive - reborn with joy - for now I am whole.
We slowly dance around the room as He holds me to His side,
With gentleness and tenderness, He tells me I'm His bride.

And as we dance He sings a song that fills my eyes with tears,
Of love that heals a hardened heart and quiets every fear.
He tells me I'm His treasure, I'm His joy and His reward,
His unique beloved creation, the one He loves and He adores.
His song is like a poem that He is singing just to me,
His face is filled with joy and it sets my spirit free.

Then gently He leans over and places a kiss upon my cheek,
And with words that fill my heart with gladness, He softly begins to speak.
He tells me of a gift that's be made especially for me,
Woven by loving passion, it will clothe, and set me free.
As we stop He takes a hold on both my outstretched hands,
He then speaks with boldness, and to the host of heaven commands:

"Bring Me her silk garments, bracelets and golden crown.
Bring me her leather sandals and white embroidered gown,
Bring me the necklaces, the earrings and the wine,
Bring the oil that I will use to cleanse and make her Mine.
For this is My bride, My chosen one who brings My heart delight,
This is the one I died for, My beloved beautiful bride."

And instantly my garments are changed from rags to robes,
For He has dressed me in His splendor, for all of heaven to behold.
As He stands in front of me, joy beams across His face,
For today He has made me holy, pure and filled with grace.
He takes my hand, pulls me close and gently sings to me,
Of how this dance of love with last through all eternity.
Of how I am His holy, pure and beautiful creation,
And once again He sings the song of divine invitation.

"Come dance with Me, My darling, Come dance with Me, My love,
You are My bride, My chosen one, Come dance with Me above.
I've paid the price to have you, to hold you by My side,
My joy, My one, My only, beloved, beautiful bride."

He soothes me to sleep...........

It's 4 am and I toss and turn
My heart is heavy, my soul is worn

4:30 now, words no longer flow
my eyelids are heavy, to bed I must go

Those dreams I just dreamt
simply Satan's best attempt
at keeping me angry, and brewing contempt

but I will reject them and cast them away
for fear and negativity will not stay
I cannot allow them to come my way

For peace is my solace and peace is my gift
but Satan my heart will only try to sift

Jesus my Rock, my strong confidant
will save me and keep me, my enemies confront

He raises up a standard against all of those
who seek to take me down, my life they oppose

But Christ is my victor,  finalized at Calvary
He triumphed, he conquered for all the world to see

My Jesus, I thank you, you love me so dear
Your love has such power to conquer all fear

So as I attempt to rest my weary head
I remember your voice,  and the kind words you have said

You promised to not leave me, nor to forsake
My broken heart will be mended, yet some time it may take
........but Your word is a promise a bright shining truth
my wounds you long to heal, with your salve you will soothe

I'm so eternally grateful, from the bottom of my heart
for this new thing you are doing, and a brand new start

You always redeem,
you always save,
you make all things new
You conquered the grave
You never give up, you never fail,
you're always faithful, your word shall prevail..............

stolen joy..............

the thief came in last night

what did he come for

he had no right

I fought him as best I could

but he was cunning and crafty

and up to no good

he quickly stole it

and ran off laughing

I could not take it

ended up crying

what more could I do

I wasn't anticipating

a heist, a coup

taking my prize, robbing

I just never knew

he took my joy

and I want it back

he took my joy

through his pathetic attack

that joy was a gift to me

blessed was it upon my head

each day I spread it eagerly

each night I hug it tight in bed

I am gonna get it back

just you wait and see

no damn blasted liar

is going to defeat me

after all I am a princess

I am royalty

seated above

in the Heavenlies

the most awesome King

my Father

whose name I love to sing

He can't rob me

He has no right

He can't take anything

from me

I am going to fight

I stand up and raise up

my voice to my King

I lift up and shout out

my urgent plea

Oh Jesus my Saviour

I praise you and thank you

for goodness surrounds you

your heart is to bless

but my heart is breaking

I simply must confess

I know you will hear me

when I call out Your name

please hold me and heal me

for your glory and fame

I wait for you Jesus

to fill me so full

of blessing upon blessing

and love unconditional

Precious One........

Precious One...
Little child
Just rest
In Daddy's arms
Snuggled up
Safe and warm
Cared for
Delighted in...

Precious One
How I love these moments
Treasuring them more than you will ever know
I will always be here for you
Just like this
Never tiring
of holding you, keeping you
close to me
dear to my heart...

Precious One
Oh how I long to hold you tight
and let all of your cares melt onto me
Always know
Daddy is here for you
whenever you need
no matter what
I will always
love you
and hold you
in my arms
and in my heart

Consider the butterfly.....

Just the other day, I took my four boys along with my mom to a local arboretum to visit a butterfly exhibit. This is the time of year to see butterflies in all their stages. Butterflies are one of my favorite creatures. They are so whimsical. I just love them! We got to go inside a special butterfly house, or habitat created just for them, as well as for us to observe them up close and personal. It was delightful! The boys were so intrigued as they went around searching for caterpillars and spotting the various butterflies, that would flit and float by. Summer dreaminess at its best! Anyway, I wanted to share this little picture my mom took. It inspired me to create this poem. It came to me as a New Covenant version of a Proverb.

Consider the butterfly
consider it's life and let it free you....
Look at the process
of fantastic wonder
into true beauty and freedom!
Before it finds its way into the world as a new creation,
emerging from egg, to caterpillar,
and then it must go through a greater process,
a transformation.....
to become it's true form as a butterfly!
Time spent bound inside itself,
as a chrysalis,
it hangs on a thread waiting to be released.....
and one day, it happens,
as nature would only predict,
the hatching from the coma,
and slowly it let's out its tender wings,
it is fragile and weak, yet it was born to fly and fly it will.
Time allows the butterfly to adjust
and out of nowhere, it takes flight.........
gracefully flitting and floating to and fro,
lightly and easy, flowing along
tasting all of natures goodness in each and every colorful flower
so many riches, so many good things to taste and to see.....
such a life of freedom, of pure simplicity,
allowing itself to be nurtured by nature itself.....!!
This is a life of pure freedom,
one that is meant to be enjoyed,
and lived to its fullest, in it's final truest stage of life
as it was intended to be -unbound and living free!!
