Please tell me..........

What is a biblical worldview? Does anyone know what I am talking about? You know when you hear other Christians talking about teaching their kids from a biblical worldview...........Just what exactly IS a biblical worldview? Seriously, I am curious to know what you think.

Shouldn't we just view the world how God does? "For God so loved the world........"

I think you hit the nail of the head...the biblical worldview (though I've never quite heard it put that way before) is LOVE. Simply LOVE.

You know...I'm always a little teeny bit sceptical with people that say that. Sounds like a good way to put legalism on things. The biblical way is....give 10%, do this, do that....hmmm....though I'm well aware that is NOT always the case!

Wow, a biblical worldview could include slavery or genocide...depends on how you look at it. How about a new covenant view of the world? Like Urs says, LOVE. And yeah, that word biblical gets thrown in anytime somebody wants to manipulate you into doing something out of fear or guilt.

Do not be distracted by a big word.

1 John 4:19 ~ We love because He first loves us...

Receive Jesus' love and impart Jesus' love to our children...

Grace, grace, grace...

You guys.................I just love you all!!

Distracted is exactly what happens when Christians choose to use big words and terms, distracted right away from the simple message of the Gospel!!

Amen Alan, I wholeheartedly agree!!!

I am especially partial to the Judeo Christian biblical worldview. Nothing quite like being led by the interpretation of others rather than by Holy Spirit. . . Anyway, that is why I can't send my kids to a Christian school and why it can be so awkward to use Christian curriculum. . .

Tear 2 pages (at random?) out of the bible, one O.T., one N.T., roll them up and hold them to your eyes and look at the world thru them.

Alternatively take your 2 favorite half verses and cut them out and paste them onto your spectacles and voila - a biblical worldview.

ahh, another thing I'm re-evaluating. As a homeschool mom, I've been a marketing target for numerous, extensive, often expensive curriculums and books on how to make sure you and your kids understand and do "Correct" on every aspect of the Christian walk. I don't think I ever did get the half of it straight, and how tiring to try and do, do, do. I'm with you guys... love the Lord, love my neighbor.

Becky,
I am so with you, all those christian teachings out there are just one of many ways to do things, and often are legalistic anyway..........we all have the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth. Christians need to wake up and realize they have a great built in COMPASS!!!

lionwoman ~ great to have you stop by :)

Yeah, isn't is just so dizzy'ing' all the millions of ways to teach 'godliness' to your kids...........who can do it all anyway, and who says you gotta - not God that's for sure. He is throwing a great big banquet and he did all the work and just wants us to come and enjoy!!
I just try to take it day by day around here, you just never know what will happen, we might just have us some good ole fun or something!!!!

Only believe....................wow, it's that simple!!!!
